1. when should I book my session:
now! because I specialize in newborn photography, I only schedule so many newborns per month. this is done by emailing Lacey@LBStudiosPortraiture.com & telling me your due date & paying the deposit. once your down for the month of your due date, you just email or call me once the baby gets here. newborns are best photographed in the first 10 days of life. i prefer between 5-9 days. any older and babies begin to lose there sleepy look & sometimes begin to develop baby acne and colic around this time. i want your baby to look and feel fresh out of the oven. :)
2. location:
newborn sessions are held at my warm & cozy naturally lit studio on morris avenue. the studio will be extra warm to help your baby stay nice & sleepy. all props are provided! if you are nursing, no worries, we have a private bathroom for your comfort. we want you & baby to feel at home. if you yourself will not be in any pictures, then come in your pj's! whatever is comfy! i know you have a lot on your plate, & half the time I never where makeup, so no worries ;)
3. full bellies:
i recommend you bring your baby with a full tummy. a full baby is a happy and sleepy baby! a feeding just before you leave the house & one when you get here to top it off will be perfect :) i know you are still trying to get on a schedule, but today we will be working around the babies schedule :) whatever makes baby happy & sleepy, baby gets. keeping baby happy will ensure the best pictures. & don't worry, I am extra patient when it comes to these little ones :)
if any siblings come to this session please have a way for them to leave after family shots are taken. older siblings sometimes get bored & we want to ensure a quiet environment for sleeping baby.
5. what to wear:
for the baby you can bring 1 or 2 outfits if you have any that you would like them to be photographed in. typically at this small age babies hardly fit into anything. we will do mainly nudey shots. but don't worry, i am super modest. nothing more than a bum shot will be taken :) i have tons of baby wraps, cute hats, and other props we will use for the baby. & don't worry, it's all washable.
for you &/or siblings, I suggest neutral colors like black, white, grey, or pastels. no patterns please. no khakis please. jeans or dresses will be good.
if you have anymore questions don't hesitate to email me! Lacey@LBStudiosPortraiture.com or call 205-215-4385
happy baby makin' ;)
